Overview

As a company committed to making the environment a more stable and less dangerous place, safety is paramount at Rice Environmental. Our goal is to protect personnel, the environment, and customer assets-regardless of the job or activity with which we’ve been tasked. We believe all accidents can be prevented, but understand that regulations aren’t enough to ensure safety. That’s why we expect every supervisor and employee to practice safe methods in the performance of their work, while complying with all state and federal regulations.

Our philosophy regarding safety and health is borne out through our consistently low Experience Modification Ratings. Our impressive .66 EMR rating is among the lowest in the industry and maintained by comprehensive corporate policies that include employee participation in such programs as:

  • “Stop Work” Authority for all employees
  • Site Specific Health & Safety Plans (HASP)
  • Commitment to Zero Incident Performance (ZIP)
  • Expected Level of PPE for Project Tasks
  • Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
  • Training & Safety Practices (29 CFR 1926.21)
  • Drug & Alcohol Testing Policy
  • Behavioral Based Safety Programs
  • Process Safety Management (PSM)
